SOUND OF SENSE

SOUND OF SENSE - Alexandre Simões' third solo album. Making music from the abstract sound of words, from the enigmatic vitality of speech. Monosyllables that spill out sounds, spread out sounds, that go on to discovery, self-exploration. Cosmic Music: Using elements from the most diverse origins and traditions, harmonic and rhythmic jazz, some rock elements with space for improvisation. One might think that there is only one road, but as you travel, new directions and meanings emerge.
Words tell, evoke, allude to feelings, moods, descriptions, with the aim of creating in the listener the attitude of someone listening to a story. All themes were composed during the year 2020 from poems by Robert Frost, D. H. Lawrence, Christina Rossetti, Emily Dickinson.

SOUND OF SENSE was produced by Alexandre Simões, recorded by Eduardo Vinhas, mixed by Tiago Lopes, mastered by Guilherme Gonçalves and cover design by Susana Cruz. It was published in January 2022 with SPA. (sociedade portuguesa de autores) cultural fund support.
